BUMN Minister Erick Thohir inaugurated the Golo Mori Convention Center (GMCC) Meeting Incentive Conference and Exhibition (MICE) area in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Wednesday (6/12/2023).

Erick hopes that GMCC will become a new tourism magnet in eastern Indonesia and create a positive impact on the local economy.

"GMCC is an attractive MICE destination. GMCC is not just a new MICE facility, but also a symbol of our commitment to improving infrastructure and tourism attractions in eastern Indonesia," said Erick.

Erick said that GMCC is a MICE area developed and built by Injourney members, namely PT Indonesian Tourism Development or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

Erick said that the development of The Golo Mori would be the third assignment by the government to ITDC through State Capital Participation (PMN) in 2021, after the development of Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in 2014 and Nusa Dua, Bali, which had been running for 50 years.

"With its natural beauty surrounded by hills and stunning beaches, GMCC is equipped with superior facilities such as a beach club, observation deck and wooden pier that faces directly onto Rinca Island, part of the Komodo National Park which is a UNESCO world heritage site," said Erick.

ITDC President Director Ari Respati stated that the development of Golo Mori is a new foundation for ITDC to continue to make positive contributions in supporting national economic growth. GMCC is not only a new landmark for ITDC, but also a meeting and event center that will advance the tourism and convention sector in Indonesia.

Ari explained that the construction of the GMCC facilities consisted of a Convention Hall with a capacity of 400 people, a VVIP lobby for 400 people, a VVIP Lounge for 29 people, a VIP Room for 12 people, a Media Center for 50 people and an Amphitheater with a capacity of 500 people. Apart from that, currently connectivity in the Golo Mori area is greatly helped by the 25 kilometer road access from Labuan Bajo.
