Investment in Indonesia's new capital city (IKN) claimed to reach Rp 41.4 trillion in 2023
NUSANTARA -- Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono claims that the total realization of investment commitments in the IKN, Indonesia's new capital, reached Rp (IDR) 41.4 trillion during the three series of groundbreaking stages 1 to 1 3.
According to Bambang, the investment amount indicates investors' increasingly strong confidence in IKN's development prospects. IKN is not only a new city but a symbol of Indonesia's transformation towards a new and sustainable civilization.
"This is proof that investor confidence has increased significantly in realizing investment," said Bambang, quoted from a press release in Jakarta on Thursday (21/12/2023).
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) again carried out a number of groundbreakings at IKN on Wednesday (20/12/2023). These include the construction of the Nusantara Capital Central General Hospital (RSUP IKN) and the construction of the Nusantara Superblock. The investment value in the Nusantara Superblock reaches IDR 3 trillion.
The laying of the first stone of the third phase development project at IKN has further increased the optimism of the IKN Authority (oikn) regarding investor commitment. OIKN has obtained 330 letters of intention (LOI) or investment interest letters, with around 55 percent being domestic investors who focus on developing the national axis sector.
Currently, Singapore, Japan, China and Malaysia are the four countries that have sent the most LOIs.
The IKN investment value in groundbreaking phase 1 on 21-22 September 2023 is IDR 23 trillion, consisting of 10 companies in the Nusantara Consortium. These companies include the Agung Sedayu Group (Consortium Lead), Salim Group, Sinar Mas, Pulau Intan, Djarum, BCA Group, Wings Group, Adaro Group, Barito Pacific, Mulia Group, Astra Group.
Then, OIKN held groundbreaking phase 2 on 1-2 November 2023 with an investment value of IDR 13.1 trillion. The groundbreaking was carried out by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Mayapada Hospital, Pakuwon Group, JIS, Hermina, Bank Indonesia, BPJS Employment, and PLN Indonesia.
Bambang said that IKN development not only promises economic progress, but also preserves the environment. The concept of an environmentally friendly smart city as a priority forest city signifies a commitment to a sustainable future for future generations.
