Tokopedia releases online shopping trends in 2023, what's the best selling?
JAKARTA -- The online shopping application Tokopedia has released a list of the best-selling products on Tokopedia throughout 2023 as well as a series of new Tokopedia features this year that can make it easier for users to carry out shopping transactions.
"Throughout 2023, we recorded a number of the best-selling product categories through Tokopedia, namely household and groceries, which includes food and drink, beauty and body care," said Head of Communications Tokopedia Aditia Grasio Nelwan, Thursday (28/12/ 2023).
In the current post-pandemic era, e-commerce is still a practical and affordable shopping solution for Indonesian people. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, e-commerce users in Indonesia in 2022 will reach 179 million and in 2023 it is predicted to reach 196 million.
Bank Indonesia predicts that the value of Indonesian e-commerce transactions by the end of 2023 will reach IDR 572 trillion. Not only that, the number of sellers and transactions on Tokopedia in various regions in Indonesia has also increased.
In the beauty and body care product category, a number of the best-selling products on Tokopedia are perfume and cologne, essential oils and massage oil.
For the household product category, some of the best-selling products on Tokopedia are cleaning tools, air fresheners and party supplies.
In the food and beverage product category, there are mineral water, seafood and rice. This category experienced an increase of more than 3 times.
"Throughout 2023 there will be an increase in hamper transactions of more than nine times compared to 2022," said Aditia.
On the other hand, Tokopedia also sees a significant increase in digital product transactions in 2023. Several transaction products such as local taxes, e-invoicing and internet, and TV also experienced an average increase of more than seven times.
