Collaboration TikTok and Tokopedia has positive effect on logistics industry
JAKARTA -- The social media platform TikTok collaborates with Tokopedia in online shopping. General Chair of the Association of Indonesian Express Delivery Service Companies (Asperindo) M Feriadi Soeprapto said the synergy between TikTok Shop and Tokopedia (GoTo) had a positive effect on the national logistics sector.
"The collaboration between GoTo and TikTok will increase the number of deliveries, and I see that their collaboration will be positive for the growth of delivery services," said Feriadi in Jakarta, Friday (29/12/2023).
One of the positive signal triggers from the collaboration between the two is that both TikTok and Tokopedia have quite a large market share in the country. This could have an impact on derivative sectors, including fast delivery services.
Moreover, the collaboration between the two coincides with the momentum of the end of the year where there is usually a cyclical increase in demand for goods, including shopping via e-commerce, which has an impact on busy business turnover in this sector. Apart from that, there is also the 2024 election which usually also has an impact on the logistics sector.
The business collaboration sentiment between TikTok and Tokopedia which brings back TikTok Shop Indonesia is also considered to have a positive impact on Indonesia's digital economy.
Chairman of the Association of E-commerce Logistics Entrepreneurs (APLE) Sonny Harsono explained that the return of the TikTok Shop means that old sellers, especially those who only depend on the platform, can sell again.
"According to data from affiliates, there are around 70-80 percent of TikTok sellers who are not successful on other platforms. So the return of the TikTok Shop has a positive impact on MSMEs and also absorbs workers," he said.
The effect of the collaboration between Tokopedia and Tiktok was proven during the "Buy Local" campaign during the 2023 Harbolnas momentum on December 12 (12.12).
Based on a statement by Tokopedia's Head of Communications Aditia Grasio Nelwan, Tokopedia recorded an almost 19-fold increase in transactions in the beauty and body care category and 13-fold in the fashion category during the Buy Local campaign at the 12.12 Harbolnas moment.
